Reflections on the 2008 Olympics

Now that the 2008 Olympics in Beijing are over, it seems like a good time to think back on some favorite moments. Here are some of mine, in no particular order:

• Jason Lezak's coming from behind to beat Alain Bernard to give the U.S. swim team victory over the French in the 4-by-100 freestyle relay.
• David Neville diving for the bronze metal in the 400-meters, giving the U.S. a sweep in that race. I liked his statement after the race, also: "...to give it my all and...give God the glory."
• The attitude of the U.S. Olympic basketball team this year. This year they were proud to represent the U.S., attended other events (cheering on other U.S. teams), played like a team, and were genuinely excited to win the gold medal (which they fought for like they really wanted it).
• Dara Torres, the 41-year-old swimmer, having the 50-meter race delayed because of a malfunction in the suit of an opponent. It's always good to see an Olympic athlete that is older than me, too (that's not participating in Olympic curling).
  

These are some that come to mind. I could probably come up with more, if I thought about it longer. What are some of your favorite Olympic moments?
